Do you ever struggle with taking the time to show gratitude to the Lord for the things that He has done? Over the past two weeks our church has studied Jonah's prayer in the belly of the great sea monster. Even though Jonah was disobedient to the Lord, he was still shown grace and mercy. Jonah responds to the Lord's mercy and grace by praying a psalm of thanksgiving. Even Jonah showed gratitude to the Lord for His goodness.

Over the past two months it has been amazing to see the things that God has done. He has given our church opportunities to go into our neighborhoods and meet souls in our community that need Him. Leading up to Vacation Bible School we visited five neighborhoods, handed out 300+ snow cones, exchanged information, passed out 1000 door hangers, and invited families to our church. 

Twenty-one children attended Vacation Bible School at Northside Highlands last week and we saw some new faces at church on Sunday morning! Throughout the week the children were tasked with raising money for the pregnancy resource center in Highlands (with a promise to pie some of our leaders in the face if they reached the goal of $50) and they raised over $200!

I am so thankful for what God is doing! I pray that you will take time this week to look back at the things that God has done and thank Him for His goodness. Will you take time today to live in gratitude?
